Picnic Pickers

15 hides, a mix of clove, birch, anise, Three minutes. In a wooded area near a picnic table. Find as many as you can, one point per hide. one bonus extreme hide worth five points, total possible points 20. An extra point for each full second under time, rounded up to the nearest second.

Rattin’ Row

Six (tentatively) rats safely hidden in a wooded area along a track. Three minutes to find as many as you can. There will be decoys (scented tubes with no rats). Two points for each rat found, Minus one point for each false call, an extra point for each full second under time, rounded up to the nearest second. One bonus rat worth five points, extreme hide.

Vegas Gamble

How far can you send your dog? Three minutes to find 20 interior hides, a mix of birch, anise, and clove. Handler is confined to a four-foot box. Closest hides one point, middle hides two points, farthest hides three points. Step out of the box, all hides become one point. False alert minus one point. Extra point for each full second under time, rounded up to the nearest second.

ENTRY INFORMATION

Each handler may only enter one dog as their Speedstakes dog, eligible for cash. They can re-run that dog or enter any other dogs they want for a $10 minimum donation to CCSC. Hides/locations will not be moved, so only the first dog run by that handler is eligible for Speedstakes.

CASH PRIZE!

From all speedstakes entries, 50% of each entry ($10) will go into a cash award. Winner gets 70% of that cash prize, 2nd place 20%, 3rd place 10%. (example, if $300 is collected in Speedstakes entries, $150 of that will be split between the first 3 places, winner getting $105, second place $42, third place $21).
