Though passcard holders have access to the building at all times, Classes and events take precedence. Reserved class time includes any time prior to class that an instructor needs to set up the ring. An extra obedience ring will almost always be available. Whether or not an agility ring will be available depends on class scheduling, please check each session’s schedule. A calendar will be available to show special events. Show N Go Wednesdays. The main agility ring, obedience, rally, and a conformation ring will be reserved for Wednesday Show N Gos beginning at 5:00 p.m. (events begin at 6:00 p.m.). Semi-Annual and Annual members can use their free punch cards for Obedience, Rally, or Agility run- throughs. Conformation is held by the Columbia Kennel Club and punch cards are not valid. Additional punch cards can be purchased at any time for $50 for 12 runs, or individual runs may be purchased for $5 each. Ring setups. Sometimes the ring will be set for a class or series of classes. Look for signs posted near the ring. Feel free to use the equipment, but if you move something please place it back into position before leaving. Some instructors will come in before their scheduled class time to set up a ring. At that time, the ring is considered closed. Teaching. There will be no teaching of classes or giving private lessons by members or non-members without the express permission of the CCSC owners. Anyone found instructing without permission will lose their building membership. Respecting others. If several individuals are using the ring at once during non-class time, each person should yield the floor on an alternating basis so all can work in a given period. Do not use other members crates, toys, or equipment without permission. Work safely. When working in the building on an individual basis, you are responsible for your own safety and that of your dog. You work at your own risk, and CCSC is not liable for any accidents. Some contact equipment is extremely heavy and should not be adjusted when alone! It is advisable to bring a cell phone in case you or your dog needs help. Agility Equipment. Agility equipment is for the use of those taking agility classes at CCSC and dogs with agility experience. Dogs with no agility experience are not allowed on agility equipment. Please do NOT put food, toys, or objects into tunnels. Children. Supervised children are very welcome at CCSC—learning to train a dog is a wonderful way to teach responsibility and instill a sense of fun and accomplishment. However, the agility arena and obedience rings are not a playground. Please keep children away from tunnels and agility obstacles. They are not child-safe. When classes are in session, please do not allow children to play/scream/run through the building—it's distracting to the dogs and their owners and not conducive to learning. Equipment. If you get a piece of equipment out, use weave wires, etc. please put it away when finished. If you or your dog damages a piece of equipment, contact Kathy, Ginger, or Andrea as soon as possible. Clean up. Throw away your soda cups and recycle the cans. Do not leave treats in the main building. Take them with you or store in the refrigerator in building 2. We don't want to encourage mice. If you dirty a dish or cup, wash it! If you or your dog has dropped toys on the training floor, put them away. There will be clean up supplies throughout the building, Clean up after your dog! Ring rentals. If a person has rented a ring, they have exclusive use of that ring. However, building members may work in other rings (i.e., if the agility ring is rented, the obedience rings may be used and vice versa). Leaving. When you leave the building please make sure everything is shut and locked and all lights (minus the emergency lights) are out. |
